LIAQA Training on Module 7 Factory Audit - 1 day

This course provides the attendee with the expected competency to perform technical audits on supplier’s facilities.

This course provides the attendee with the expected competency to perform technical audits on supplier’s facilities to satisfy quality expectations regarding UKCA/CE technical file compliance.

This one-day course provides the attendee with a reminder of legislation requirements and how to look for evidence of compliance during a supplier audit.

The attendee will receive audit documentation written by the LIA and training on how to complete the document. To assist with the audits in China, the audit report/check list document is written in dual languages of English and Chinese.

After successful completion of the course exam, the attendee will receive a certificate of competence which is valid for two years.

WHO IT IS FOR

This course is designed to support LIAQA requirements and is aimed at LIAQA members only. Non-LIAQA members are welcome but will not receive a certificate.

The course is best suited for quality/ compliance managers.

All learners will be provided with a comprehensive set of support material, serving as a valuable point of reference after completion of the course.

ATTENDANCE

ASSESSMENT

The learners are assessed by a written exam at the end of the course.

The learners in Asia are required to answer multiple choice questions.

PROGRESSION

Upon completion of the training course, learners may want to improve their knowledge of a specific topic of lighting by enrolling on to the courses in one of the following subject areas:

  • Standards and Legislation
  • Lighting Design Software (DIALux and Relux)
  • Emergency Lighting (endorsed by ICEL)

Depending upon the learner's experience and knowledge, they may choose to do the courses from Introductory, Certificate, Advanced Certificate

Paul Sargent

LIAQA and Overseas Activity Manager, The LIA

Paul Sargent is a lighting industry expert who contributes to the Lighting Industry Association’s membership offering sharing his knowledge and practical experience through courses on lighting, specifically covering topics like LIAQA Factory Auditing and Eco-design for Lighting. Paul has an established technical background in quality, compliance, and engineering. Paul is degree educated in Electronics and Communications Engineering with over 30 years of technical experience including 10 years in the lighting sector.

Since assuming his role as the Lighting Industry Association’s LIAQA and Overseas Activity manager, Paul has (with Andy Guest) implemented the LIA’s Quality Assurance scheme, LIAQA. Paul and Andy collaboratively run the LIAQA Scheme visiting LIAQA members to review their quality systems and offer advice and guidance. Paul has also established an LIA inspection service in China providing supplier audits and pre-shipment inspections for LIA members on request. Furthermore, Paul travels to China and India delivering training and approval for LIAQA members staff located in China and India.

Paul is a liked and respected member of the lighting industry sector with a unique style of professionalism.
