Connected Lighting (CL TC)
Committee Mission:
Educate the LIA members, specifiers, and their clients on the value that lighting controls can bring to any lighting installation.
About the Committee
The LIA Connected Lighting Technical Committee is a committee that focuses specifically on lighting controls within buildings, Lighting controls refer to the devices and systems used to adjust and regulate the amount and quality of light within a building. These controls can range from simple manual switches to sophisticated automated systems that respond to changes in occupancy, natural light levels, and other factors. Common types of lighting controls include:
Dimmer switches, Timers, Occupancy sensors, Daylight sensors, and Lighting management systems.
Effective lighting controls can help to reduce energy consumption, improve occupant comfort and productivity, and enhance the overall functionality of a building. They are an important part of building design and are often required by building regulations and energy codes.
