LIASC
What is LIASC?
The LIA have developed 3 new product safety schemes within the LIA Safety Certification (LIASC) brand. The purpose of these new schemes is to provide the lighting industry with a variety of options, so no matter the size of the business or its certification knowledge, product safety certification is accessible, understandable, and achievable.
Type 1
The LIASC Certificate Scheme is a cost-effective way of gaining a product safety certificate to compliment your LIA safety test reports (Type 1 scheme), this is one of two UKAS accredited schemes provided by the LIA Laboratory.
Once your product has been through the safety tests as appropriate with the LIA Laboratory, you will now have the option to upgrade to a LIASC Certificate, there is a one off fee for this application and your product will feature on the new LIA Certification portal.
The purpose for this scheme is to offer the Lighting Industry the chance to obtain product safety certification without the rigorous surveillance that other schemes come with. The LIASC Certificate will be valid for 3 years from registration, and should you wish to continue afterwards you will be required to send your product back for a new safety assessment.
Type 3
LIASC is a type 3 scheme where you achieve certification from the LIA based on your product assessment and surveillance.
To join this scheme you will be required to have undergone a full relevant safety assessment with the LIA Laboratory, and on completion you will be required to submit relevant quality evidence with ongoing surveillance to ensure continuous compliance. in return for this you will receive social media support from the LIA, Your product will be featured on the LIA Certification portal and you will be allocated your own personalised LIASC Logo to use on your packaging and marketing, and the LIASC Product logo if you wish to use on your product markings.

LIASC+
LIASC Plus is the highest tier of product safety certification provided by our certification body, this is one of two UKAS accredited schemes provided by the LIA Laboratory.
To join this scheme you will be required to have undergone a full relevant safety assessment with the LIA Laboratory, and on completion you will be required to undergo annual audits onsite from one of our expert auditors to ensure continuous compliance. If successful, your product will be featured on the LIA Certification portal and you will be allocated your own personalised LIASC+ Logo to use on your packaging and marketing, as well as the LIASC product logo if you wish to use it on your product markings.
Members joining the LIASC Plus scheme have the option to also receive IECEE CB Certification covering Europe.
