Tamlite Lighting has made it through to the shortlist of the prestigious Made in the Midlands Awards in the category of ‘Manufacturer of the Year – Over £25M’.
The Award recognises companies that have made an outstanding contribution to the manufacturing sector as a whole, with a turnover of over £25M and/or employing in excess of 250 people.
Tamlite is one of five companies shortlisted. To have reached this stage, Tamlite will have ‘…demonstrated excellence, sales growth, increased exports and regional economic impact during the qualifying period (April 2018 - April 2019).’
Tamlite’s impressive achievements over the last year have clearly impressed the Judges. This includes a 28.3% increase in sales – taking turnover to £58.5M; a 30% increase in sales staff; a near-£1M investment in Surface Mount Technology since 2016 at its Tamtec Electronics division; and major product launches including new xcite and REVO ranges.
Tamlite Lighting’s Managing Director, John Allden comments:
“We are absolutely delighted to have reached the Made in the Midlands Awards shortlist. We are proud of our Midlands roots and manufacturing base. This particular award sends a positive message about our commitment to the region and our continued investment in our people and our facilities. We wish all of the shortlisted companies ‘good luck’ for the awards itself – and we very much look forward to the big night.”
The Made in the Midlands Awards organisers have released comments from the Judges of this category:
“This diverse category further seals this region's position as a global centre for manufacturing. It highlights the ambition and thirst for growth of this region's dynamic and versatile manufacturing sector.”
This year's Insider Made in the Midlands Awards 2019 event will be hosted at Macdonald Burlington Hotel on May 2nd 2019.
