Steon provide energy efficient and decorative lighting upgrade for St. Andrew’s Court

Steon Lighting has successfully designed, manufactured and supplied a complete lighting refurbishment for St Andrew’s Court in Hull. The aim of the project was to move towards a more energy conscious solution and improve lux levels throughout the building to create a comfortable environment for residents.

Steon’s Lighting Engineers utilised the CAD drawings of St. Andrew’s Court to select the most appropriate luminaires for the various interior and exterior spaces. Those luminaires selected were predominantly from within our technical brand, ‘Steon’, however we chose decorative Luxace pendants for the activity room to improve aesthetics. Our designers also created the lighting schemes with various intelligent lighting control systems which prevent unnecessary illumination and therefore aiding energy reduction.

The interior areas which required upgrades include; corridors, stairwells, bedrooms, bathrooms, dining rooms, plant stores, kitchen and laundry areas. Steon were also asked to supply exterior luminaires for the external walls of the building and walkways around the grounds.

The new lighting installation has been designed in line with CIBSE guidelines to create a pleasant environment which promotes wellbeing for residents and employees alike.

By transitioning to LED technology, energy consumption and maintenance costs will be minimised, and future savings will be attributable to the enhanced reliability and extend product lifecycles.
