LIA CEO Opens NET LED Lighting’s New Premises

To celebrate NET LED Lighting’s recent move to its new premises in Cambridge, LIA CEO Steven Davies officially opened the new building at NET LED’s Grand Opening Celebration on Friday 21st September.

Both suppliers and customers were invited to tour the new facilities which feature brand new offices, a showroom and a 36,000 sqft warehouse to accommodate the company’s extensive product range and growing team.

NET LED was established in 2009 and distributes a wide range of commercial LED lighting nationally through electrical wholesalers.

Due to the company’s ongoing success, it outgrew its previous office and warehouse facilities and needed to outsource additional warehouse space to meet demand. In July 2018, the company relocated to its new premises at Buckingway Business Park in Cambridge.

NET LED Director, Christopher Dawes, says the new premises provide the ideal space for NET LED’s future growth:

“Having taken on two new employees in the past week, we now employ 35 people and the new offices will allow our team to expand to over forty. The warehouse is now holding 1500 pallets, which is even more stock for next day delivery, and we have the space available to nearly double this quantity.

"The new building is a sign of NET LED’s ongoing success and our Grand Opening Celebration is our way of thanking our suppliers, customers and staff for getting us to this point.”

Lunch was served by award winning Cambridge street food vendors Steak & Honour and Jack’s Gelato. Entertainment included a pallet auction, raffle and business card draw, with top prizes including a weekend test drive with an Audi A8 donated by Audi Cambridge, an Android tablet donated by FenStar IT and a music streaming device donated by Arcam.

All money raised on the day went to Street Child United, a charity that works internationally with partner organisations, supporting street-connected children across the world. Street Child United gives young people the chance to speak out about their lives on a global platform and ensures their rights, and the specific issues they face, remain on the international agenda.

Moving forward, NET LED is excited to serve customers from its new facilities and intends to continue to recruit more talent for its growing team.

NET LED has been an active member of the LIA since its inception. NET LED is an Ambassador of the Lighting Industry Academy, having put many of its staff through the LIA training courses. In addition, the LIA has independently assessed NET LED and its suppliers’ quality processes and awarded NET LED its LIAQA quality assurance status.
